AURORA - SPREAD YOUR WINGS
Description
This is Aurora, the most magnificent butterfly in my Mystical Garden. Let me tell you her story….
Once upon a time, a tiny little butterfly emerged from her cocoon. Her wings were soft and crumpled and she was unable to fly. After hours of trying to plump her wings, she had almost given up. Flame, the largest of the Magical Fairies in the Mystical Garden, came to her rescue and helped her fill her wings into the largest of all the butterflies. She named her Aurora because her body and wings shimmered with a multitude of colors like the Northern Lights. Now she is the Guardian over all of the new butterflies, protecting them and helping them to spread their wings.
She represents transformation, hope and resilience. A caterpillar turning into a butterfly is the ultimate symbol of growth and symbolizes personal evolution, deep change and starting fresh. The incredibly difficult process of breaking out of a chrysalis shows us that struggle can lead to something remarkably beautiful.
Made with Swarovski Aurora Borealis and Blue Aurora Borealis Crystals, this Butterfly will create magical prisms of colors that will illuminate your heart and home! These crystals are no longer in production but she will live in my garden forever. She measures over 2 inches tall, 1.5 inches widest at her upper wings and about 9 inches with Swarovski Bicone strand and hook for hanging.

HOW TO GET THE MOST RAINBOWS
Hang in Direct, Unobstructed Sun: Place your suncatcher in south-facing or west-facing windows, which get the longest stretches of direct sunlight. Make sure there are no trees, screens, or blinds obstructing the direct rays. While this may not be option, please note that I actually have screen in my kitchen window and the sun still lights up my suncatcher!

More Information
All suncatchers will come in a gift box along with their printed story card. All come with hooks shown and mallet ones will have 2’ of white ribbon if you are hanging someplace a hook may not work. The larger ones will not come with ribbon due to their weight and size.
I take all of my pictures and videos with my IPhone camera either in my backyard or inside my home. I use white or light colored backing on almost all but also use black or darker sometimes to capture other colors.
There a couple of reasons for this. First, it depends on the time of the day and how much sun there is outside. Also, different sizes, faucets and colors will give different effects.
All are high quality glass crystal and have a highly reportable name and longevity in the crystal world.
Swarovski Crystals has been in business for 131 years and use precision machinery with an unmatched diamond like fire. Pricing is higher and most of the crystals used for sunactchers are discontinued.
Preciosa Crystals has officially been in business for 78 years and also use precision machinery for an evenly distributed brilliance. Pricing is less than Swarovski but the selection is limited for suncatchers.
Asfour Crystal has been in business for 65 years and use machine cut for high refraction properties. Their pricing is less and have more of a selection for suncatchers.
General
Handmade suncatchers differ from commercially produced ones primarily in their material quality, design uniqueness, and structural durability. Since I make each individually, they all may be a little unique.
Material Quality
- Handmade: Crafters typically use genuine K9 crystal, real stained glass, and durable metals like brass or copper. Real crystals split light into vibrant, sharp rainbows.
- Commercial: Factories often use molded plastic, resin, or cheap acrylic. These materials scratch easily, cloud over time, and produce dull, faint rainbows.
Production and Design
- Handmade: Each piece is unique and assembled by hand. You will often see intricate wire-wrapping, custom beadwork, and one-of-a-kind artistic flaws that add character.
- Commercial: Pieces are mass-produced using machines and molds. Thousands of identical items are made with uniform, repetitive, and sometimes uninspired designs.
Shipping
I take he utmost care in packaging my handmade suncatchers to ensure their safe delivery. I use the same packaging on all regardless of how much the suncatcher cost. I use soft tissue to protect the crystals and then place it in a pretty white gift box. I then use a sturdy box and protect with tissue paper so it has 4 layers of protection.
I ship daily Monday - Friday so shipments will be taken to post office within 24-48 depending on when the order comes in. Generally, shipments may take anywhere from 2 to 7 business days.
Yes, I provide tracking information for all of my shipped handmade suncatchers. Once your order is dispatched, we will send you a confirmation email containing the tracking number and instructions on how to track your shipment. You can use this tracking number to monitor the progress of your package and get real-time updates on its whereabouts.
